I 'got into' Silence Media following an interview posted on Econsultancy in which their founder & CEO, Lee Henshaw was discussing the merits of a CPE (Cost per Engagement) model of paying for advertising. I must admit I'm a bit scpetical about CPE compared to CPA or CPC, but it works for some advertisers, publishers and, in Lee's case, for specific niches (Silence Media is big on music marketing).
I followed through to Silence Media's website, and they have some examples of their video banners on the site; video banners done really well. The 'E' of the CPE is earned when users hover over the banner for 3 seconds or more, and the banner expands (a big step from the auto-play days of video!)
All the examples on their site are fantastic. The model sees them being 'full service' in every sense, including ad serving. This agency is going places.
